two different formats of essentially the same thing - just like heavy or light beer.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  3. DVD+RW is better than DVD-RW in at least the following way:
After recorded in DVD (+/-) Recorder, DVD+RW can be played immediately in any DVD players. In case of DVD-RW you have to click the 'Finalise' button (it takes 60+ minutes) before it can be played.

I think you are doing something wrong.
    If in doubt, Google it.

    Must be.
    I can do a full DVD-R to DVD-R dub in ~5-7 minutes!

    If in doubt, Google it.

You must be drinking too much....

FYI, when comes to RW's, most of the slightly older DVD ROMs or readers could only read -RW.
It's time to kick some butts, and presto ( if you know what I mean )

Go do some home work and figure it out yourself, or contact DVD ROM manufacturers.

There are different procedures to making the two formats compatible outside of what they were burned/recorded on....but that is taken care of by either computer software or the DVD recorder.
Some recorders make discs that are more compatible than others BUT that is the fault/feature of the DVD recorder....NOT the format.
