i need to know what program can convert .dat files to mpg. I have .dat files on hard drive so im not trying to convert it from vcd disc.

I used vcdgear, it worked but it prevented me from using tmpgenc author. so i need a program that can do the same thing. When i have vcdgear installed, i can not use TDA. When i try to burn using TDA, it doesnt recognize my drive and says something about aspi driver or something.

  3. It's best to use IsoBuster but if you don't have the disc just rename the extension to .mpg

use vcdeasy (download old versions which were free) and use "tools" to convert dat to true mpg (removes riff headers that were created with svcd), now you're ready to edit/author in any program!

As for just renaming the extension. That is no good, i tried that and tmpge didnt even allow me to use it as a source.

VCDGear once it is installed, i am not able to use TPA

    Ill give ISOBuster a shot

  6. You could use VCDEasy, search the web for version 1.1.5.2 (its the last freeware version), will convert files from harddisk.
