PC Mods or System Designs

Just add your own mods, designs, etc. that you've done or are working on. Not looking specifically case designs, because there was already a thread for it, but more of what you've done to your PCs in the way of making it more ergonomical for you or modified it to fit your needs that PCs usually aren't normally made for. (IE: 2 PSUs and Mobo in one case and HDD & optical drives ina seperate case)

Using the below floorplan (not exact measurements, but gives an idea):
Room A is currently an office or computer room. B is the master bedroom which has a computer in it. And D is the baby's bedroom. The garage is the doorway off to the right. What I want to do is take the main towers with the hard drives and put them all in room A. I'm trying to find a decent cable and connector assembly so I can just run a cord (I call a JUMBO line)to the desk that plugs into a custom made panel. The panel wil have a Power/Reset button(s), 2 USB ports, 2 PS2 ports (1xkey/1xmouse), monitor port, audio ports (Mic, speak, etc.) and a different custom connector plug. The second custom connector plug will have a different cable (I call an ID "Input Drive" line) that connects to a mico-cube tower that can house up to 2 optical and 1 floppy drives. Each room will be connected via the jumbo line to different towers in room A where it will be easier to regulate the temperature for the 1 room.

ADVANTAGES: Again, easy to regulate temperature of 1 room. Room A will also have all of the Ether connections, power outlets and various other connections necessary and also have the ability for upgrading. Computers are all closer together and can more easily be networked together. Power Strips, UPS, Hubs, and other various things you may have to buy less of in that you don't necessarily have to buy it for each room. One large UPS may handle 3 or 4 PCs and equipment. The space of the larger tower is opened up and most of the cables (particularly power cords) are eliminated in the working area.
DISADVANTAGES: JUMBO line might be a bit bulky to run to all of the rooms. Connectors and cable are not a uniform standard being used and takes time to create and put together independently.

What is it that you'd like to be able to do in each of your rooms? Have you considered wireless?

Going wireless will require a bit more $$ and ingenuity. I'd be creating the first and only system like it available. But think of it this way: Imagine every room just has the ports to connect the minor equipment to a panel in the wall(IE: Drive tower, input peripherals, Monitor). The machines and HDDs are in another room. You won't require as much networking cable. You can disconnect a room's panel completely (in case you ground your child). Easier to regulate power, temp., etc. This is basically how most company mainframes work. One room or floor of huge equipment, then route minor connections to independent work areas. THe only thing required at a workstation is input peripherals, floppy/dvd drives, monitor hookup, and some extra ports for a few extra items to connect (IE: USB, FireWire, audio).

Don't forget about F, just make sure everyone has there own keyboard and mouse for F . I would think with how cheap PC's are buying low end machines would be easier, definiley less time consuming. What are goping to do when new technology comes out requiring you to rewire....

On to the women. My question is why is it when I was single I was able to come home from work and be ready for the entire weekend within an hour(shit,shower,shave,clothes,camping stuff whatever that weekends events needed) She's unable to do this in an entire day???? Can't live with them and shooting will send you to jail.
