MPG corrupted - Tried Mpegfix and converting it to AVI

Hi

I have a MPG file that is corrupted - Please help - Let me try to explain the problem as detailed as possible and hope someone can help

1) When I try playing it in Window Media Player, it plays for 30sec and it hangs there and restarts (this is a 235meg Mpg)

2) When I used MPEG CORRECTER, it fixes it from 45mins to 15mins but I still cannot see after 30sec

3) I tried converting it using EO Video to AVI but it causes EO to crash halfway

Please assist as I am at my wits end.

i have repaired some mpg-1 using VCD-gear, chosing MPEG-MPEG.

it has options to repair the stream, and even cut out unrecoverable segements within. not guaranteed, but worth a try.

you can also try and re-encode the mpg with TMPGEnc, but if the file is badly corrupted, then it may just hang in the attempt.
