    Hello everybody,

I'm trying to automate a program that will play the decrypted DVD files in the Hard Disk just double clicking the VIDEO_TS.IFO file. Is there any program that can do this? I've tried the IfoEdit but it open up the file in edit mode and you still need to click the "DVD Play" button in order to watch the DVD. I need something that will overide the Edit mode and goes directly to the movie.

    Thank you very much,

    Bebe

    Hello,

I'm pretty sure powerdvd can. I'll bet windvd can also (I haven't used that software in awhile so I can't be sure).

WinDVD can "play DVD from folder" - you just point it to the dir where VIDEO_TS is.

    Yoda313,

I'm not in my home right now and can't test it. But can these software run through DOS Mode, like running like this " C:\Program Files\PowerDVD.exe \MovieTitle\VIDEO_TS.IFO", then plays the movie.

    Thanks for the reply...

    Hello,

I've never heard of a dos dvd player. Try a net search and see what you get.

    Kevin,

My mistake, not in DOS MODE but in the command prompt. I want to use the software and utilize the Microsoft Access to point to the DVD Directory and play it. I already tried IfoEdit and its working with the extra button that you need to press. I want something that will do just one click. I will try to use powerdvd tonight.

    Again thanks,

    Bebe

Every(?) app can be started from DOS, so that should work if it understands to play a DVD when you tell it to open an ifo.
I tried "powerdvd d:\filmer\xyz.avi2 and that worked at least...

    Mats,

Yeah it will work on a single file movie. You can also use Windows Media Player executable and it will run. What I want is to point to a single file like the VIDEO_TS.IFO because it contains the connection to all of the DVD structure. I want this so that it will play all menus of all the DVD and you can select the type of AUDIO you want thats in the Hard Disk instead of putting the a DVD Disk every time I need to watch a movie just like in a regular DVD player.

That's exactly what WinDVD does when you use "Play DVD from folder".

    Mats,

I will check if I have a WinDVD and will try it tonight.

    Thanks for the reply,

  11. Media Player Classic will do this. All you have to do is associate the VIDEO_TS.IFO file with it.

It is also a freeware solution, so you DON'T have to buy anything!
