It's less than that if you count the time I leave to visit out of office clients (IE: Title companies, Realtors, etc.) and then schmooze with them at Starbucks on their lunch break. When I get back to the office, I still take my 2 hour lunch. I probably net about 1 hour of physical work a day, and most of that is just entering applications into the computer or typing a few letters (that have a template outline). I'm mostly IT help, so I don't have a large martgage pipeline, but still bring in hefty commissions.

I'll tell you guys like I tell my students...work smarter not harder. Why spend 8 hours working when you can be done in 3?
Come to think of it...that may be why the first job out of HS didn't work out so well for me...it was piece work, we made parts racks for Navistar and I had to produce 10 per week. So on monday I would come in, take the blue print, make the jig, then cut all of my parts for all 10 of my racks. Tuesday I would come in and weld them all together...if you already have all the parts the rest is easy.....then wednesday, thursday and friday I would pretty much just **** around for 8 hours...hell sometimes I would clock in and go to the local refreshment stand...damn, that was my favorite job too

I don't mind doing heavy physical labor, as it gets fun sometimes. I just want to do it on my time.
