  1. I have always used DVDx2.2 with divx 4.12 to back up my dvds to divx. However I used Divx 5.1 just to see how much better it would make the divx files look. And there is a noticeable difference. But I use the slowest settings where it says "Performance/Quality" for divx 4.12 and I could do a widescreen movie in about 4 hours.

    But if I use the slowest settings with Divx 5.1 it would take a LOT longer. I was wondering if there is a way to make it go faster but without using the "Standard" setting or the "Fastest".

    Or should I use some other method to encode? Thanks.

  2. The "standard" setting on DivX 5.1 is directly equivelant to the "slowest" setting on DivX 5.0.x and below. Check out their user guide:
