  4. I would just take the easy way and remove the burner from the usb case and plug it in the tower update it and then just put it back in the usb case pretty simple and less chance of screw ups

  8. Hi.

    Latest update,,,

Upgraded the firmware of my 108 drive to 1.10 using the windows upload tool given by pioneer. ( Drive was connected via usb in external casing ). The update was succesfull.

Later on updated Nil's firmware 16x4 using DVRflash ,, and that also was successfull.

The drive is working fine, with not a single coaster till now from the day i bought it.

Now waiting for somebody to comeout with a hacked version for DVD+R so that i can burn that also at 16x.

    Thanx to everybody who replied.

  11. Hi. Sector001.

I tried using both - the dvrflasher 2.0 ( pre win release ) as well as the pioneer windows update utility . And both of them worked smoothly.

But as dun4cheap said, it has worked with his fireware enclosure, so it should probably work with ur enclosure also.

What error do you get when u flash it ?

You need to run the program from a commamd prompt. On XP goto the start-run type in cmd; this will bring up a dos box, change directory to the directory with the flashing program and the new firmware. Type a command like: DVRFlash -v I: R7100107.116

The I stands for the drive letter then then firmware is after the colon, make sure the new firmware is in the same folder.

It this is against AUP. Please remove..
