  1. I just installed my new pioneer dvr-108. I also purchased a 50 pack of 8x ritek +r's.

But when i went to do my first burn, dvddecryptor rated my 8x discs at 4x. Nero did the same. I checked to see if my drive dropped into PIO mode, but it's in DMA, so now I'm stuck.

The drive came preflashed with the 1.10 firmware. Any help here?

I just got the same drive but used Prodisc 8X - which Nero identified and burned at 12X. What version of Nero do you have? See if you can update it. Can't help you with DVD decrypter - I don't use it anymore. Try DVD Shrink 3.2 with an updated Nero and see how that works.

Ritek G03 is rated at 2X, not 8X. The G04 is rated at 4x, and the G05 is rated at 8X.

  6. I have a 108 and only have 2 diffrent types of media at present....
    DataWrite 8X Fuji Dye
    Ritek Printable 4X GO4
Using the latest nero to burn it will burn the datawrite's @ 8X and the Go4 @ 4X.
On the Go4 there is not option to burn faster only slower.
This was on 1.06 firmware. I have updated to 1.10 but havent done any burning since.

  10. Yeah, I just found out that the ritek dvd+r 8x discs arent supported by Pioneer, thats why they only show 4x. That sux. I hope they correct that soon. But in the meantime Prodisc are supported.

Has anyone had success with burning any 8x +r riteks with the 108?
