  1. I used the SVCD on DVD guide (https://www.videohelp.com/svcddvdr) and when I am authoring/converting the svcds the resolution is messed. The black bar on the top is larger then the one at bottom and part of the right side of the picture seems to be cut out.

(doesnt really show the cropped right side)

Dont know is that pic helps out, but is shows the black bar problem. I live in a NTSC region.

When patching the headers i put the horizontal size as 352 and changed the vertical and framerate to NTSC. I made sure the tv system was ntsc in moviefactory.

After making the video ts folder is tried to change the headers to 480 but then it looked messed up. Any suggestions? Thanks for any help.

Remember that the patch method doesn't work on all players. Your basically lying to your dvd player, by telling your player that the MPEG is a size that is incorrect. Strange behaviour should be the norm.

If yours doesn't work, it doesn't work. You'll have to do it the hard way.

  3. I didn't burn the dvd yet. I noticed the res was wrong through moviefactory. Also, i tested it with Power DVD, same thing.

The res is wrong because the patch method does nothing to change the resolution. It basically 'lies' to the player. The only way to see if it works with your particular player, is to try it.
