  1. i notice that bulkpaq dont support the 107 and says nothing about the 108, just wondering is there a firmware upgrade to allow me to burn at 8x onto bulkpaq media with my 108, or am i just better off getting a ritek media next time

i have downloaded the official 108 1.10 firmware upgrade

  2. Only one way to find out and thats to try one. Think its more of a case of the burner not supporting the media.
    From SVP site
    {DV 3130} Bulkpaq (8x) DVD-R Discs in Spindle Tubs of 25

Bulkpaq have proved with this disc they have access to the very latest cutting edge disc technology. In fact, in some ways this technology is too new because this disc is not included in the firmware compatibility list of some DVDR writers yet!

This new disc is recognised as 8x in the following drives:

    NEC 3500

    NEC 2510

    NEC 2500 (Firmware 1.07)

In the Pioneer 107 it is currently recognised at 4x (This should increase to 8x in a future Pioneer firmware release)

Bulkpaq have negotiated a special price for this disc due to its current compatibility issues. The result is that if you own an NEC 2510 writer or and NEC 2500 running firmware 1.07, these are a bargain 8x disc!

    Amazing value at under 24p a disc for an 8x DVD-R !!
