Although I've seen this error many times in the past on different media, I've started to notice a constant trend on it with MCCRG20 media.
The discs are still good burns. They will still play in a player.
What I'm getting at is the player rejection rate. Pretty often I've had to eject and re-insert MCCRG20 media because the player saw it as a "bad" or "invalid" disc. PRINCO used to have this kind of issue, on the good burns. This could be for any number of reasons, from reflectivity to lead-in reads, to you-name-it. It is only happening on these discs, and even then, on players known to play anything. The data is still present, and a few loads/unloads will often let the player recognize the media. So far, this is only for DVD-R 4x MCCRG20 Verbatim branded media. I've not really thoroughly used/tested any other MCCRG20 releases to date.
The media is still good and the burns are still good (1ST class success rate) ... but this is a bit aggravating. Something's not right here. I wouldn't avoid it necessarily, but know that a rejection is not a bad burn, just a player rejection, so try again. I've only had to dump 2 discs to date because no player would see them, regardless of the number of reloads (and it was a good burn, played fine on a DVD burner).
Thought you should know.
