I know Will Hay doesn't particularly care for the 'milestone' posts, either. I started that sometime ago for the purpose of injecting some humor and satire into this forum. It was not my intent to represent a 'Me Have High Post Count, Me Penis Bigger Than Yours!' attitude. I use the post count as a marker for planning that satirical nonsense I enjoy writing.

What I see happening here is a division forming between some veteran members over how they think this website should be run. On one hand, we have a group that thinks it's turning into a bordello, and on the other hand, we have a group that thinks there's nothing wrong with it being a bordello. That's unfortunate, because I think there's room for compromise, but less and less people seem to feel that way.

I have been vocal very recently of the insane amount of ridiculuos posts and yes, you're quite right there is a compromise but you must surely agree recent events are absolutely ridiculous.
People are clambering to hit a milestone and then crowing about it.
People are making post after post after post for no reason and it's getting out of control.
When the likes of you and I hit milestones we knew we'd suprised ourselves with the number (..."**** me, I'm nearing 3k"), we didn't race to hit 3k and in doing so felt we'd given something to OT, contributed in some form.
Some of these arseholes are doing the opposite and turning this entertaining aspect of videohelp.com into a farce.
I'm not and never have suggested how this site should be run, but my personal opinion is exactly that, my opinion

I've learnt a lot and attempted to give back (52% in off-topic, not so bad), a little money but more so in capturing and my imput lately, as you know, was purely OT.
At the end of the day the only reason you didn't see many of my posts until recently is becuase I was bored shitless with the forum.
It had and has been over-run by childish, ignorant arseholes and the poor bastard moderatos have been forced to take action by a few whining twats and as a result the popular, friendly forum we once knew had turned for the worst.

I see the change too and I don't like how the OT forum has become a "Test" forum for bumping post counts. It makes the place trashy and justifies every little smirk and negative comment the "On-topic-only" posters have said about it.

I have been guilty at times of whoring a couple to make the milestone, so I could post the thread and be done with it, but I don't post one-word posts as a regular operating mode, and it disgusts me that some here have interpreted that as being "a true post whore", in the spirit of the OT.

It isn't. Posting one-word posts continuously, or "me too" posts, or the like is adolescent drivel, and I, too have felt my IQ take a hit merely by being exposed to this childish crap thread after thread.

I'm getting angry about this because I see the possibility of some quality people like Hardcoreruss or VCDHunter being so appalled by this horseshit ...they're going to write it off and depart, like Village Idiot did.

Maybe if we make an "******** Forum" just for people to compete for the prize of "highest poster in the last 12 hours", let them quick-post away until their orgasmic state has reached such a level as to cause spasming and jerking. Then they can jerk each other off over the last milestone reached and move on with the next milepost.

Make the forum private since many of us here who remember how the OT was just a few months ago don't really want the public to see such a display of mindless self-gratification.

If I've pissed anyone off ....GOOD. Get over it and post real stuff, or get the **** out of OT.
