  1. ok, now I was thinking about something to further increase video quality when converting divx to vcd or svcd mpeg,
since both divx and mpeg use heavy inter-frame compression
in the theory when the same processes are used twice doesn't that decrease quality?

so wouldn't it be better if I decompressed my a divx movie with huffy or mjpeg codec at a larger resoultion?
then use that file to make a vcd compliant mpeg?

I know that I might of stated that wrong but does someone know what I mean? and could they help me out?,
    thanks

  2. I doubt it. I believe it would lead to more quality loss, since you would not only get those 2 heavy processes, but you would also get the process of decompressing the file to huffy (which would be a third conversion, which I believe would lead to more quality loss)

DivX is a lossy codec, so you can not refresh the quality by decompessing.
