this is what my virtualdub capture preview (and recordings) look like. as visible the lower part of the screen is blank (or green) and the visible part has missing stripes. I have no real idea what leads to this. capture with another application worked well for that height issue (but I need to use vdub for a few other issues)... any help welcome.

I saw something simular, but it was due to a bad input. I had to switch from S-Video to composite, and everything was fine after that. Unknown if that might be an issue with you, since you said it does capture fine in other apps.
Are you trying to capture at an odd resolution, or possibly to an odd codec? Can you supply more info as to what your capturing to?Impossible to see the future is. The Dark Side clouds everything...
