Craig - Actually I've heard that the midwest US speaks the English that was spoken about the time of the migrations (1500-1600's). It mutated on the East Coast so New York and Boston sound really weird but the Midwest keeps the old English. (no accent).

As for me personally, I could careless about it. I don't put a lot of stock in correct spelling or grammer because to me, I believe language whether written or spoken only serves the purpose of communication. As long as I can clearly state whatever I am talking about then who gives a shit if it is spelled correctly and that my sentence is in proper structure? Some may care...I do not.
