Firmware 1.10 for the DVR-108 - Lionel - 10:38:11
The 1.10 firmware for the DVR 108 brings a number of improvements according to Pioneer, including a speed boost in recording DVDs. We burned a DVD-R in 12x and compared the result obtained with the firmware 1.06. We shaved 10 seconds off the recording time, which is far from a negligable benefit [for a firmware upgrade]. Now it only takes 6 minutes and 50 seconds to burn a disk at this speed. We have not been able to test burnign at 16x, because no compatible media exists at this speed, nor does a patched firmware.
The 1.10 flasher (for PC only) can be found here:

There is patched firmware available, but it's only beta at this point, and can only be installed using Windows.
I like systems, their application excepted. (George Sand, translated from French), "J'aime beaucoup les systèmes, le cas d'application excepté." -
