Lately when writing with my pioneer 107D, using Nero 6, I see the write buffer level fluttering randomly between 10%-98% and never stays put for more than a second. This is happening as of late with firmware 113. I recently installed firmware 116 and reinstalled Nero 6 but the same scenario is occurring. Anyone have any suggestions as to what could be the cause of this problem and a possible fix?

i manage to fix the problem. The hard drives should be DMA. I checked the specs and one of them had PIO.....dont know why its under PIO when (DMA if avaliable) is selected. I flashed my mobo bios and selected (use PIO) in device manager, exit then reopen and selected (DMA if availble) that detected my UDMA HD. Looks like somehow it click'd PIO. Every thing works fine now. thanks for the help guys :P

XP can sometimes change the DMA status of a DVD drive to PIO when the system has a difficult time reading a file. If you are having problems with burning speed or buffer levels, you should check it.
