Several problems/Questions
1. I can't record on timer. I set the time, channel and so forth. press the timer button on the remote. It will come on, switches to L-1 and appears to be recording. Afterwards, it will say "some parts were unrecordable and could not be recorded" "OK". I'm currently using DVD-RW
Unit will record when I press the record button on the unit itself.
2. I have Digital cable and nothing in the manual show the set up. I currently have the cable split coming out of the wall with one going to the Cable box in, and one to the DVD in. The Cable out goes to the TV.
3. Can I record the Digitial Music stations on DVD if they are up in the 400's?
4. I'm I correct in saying that the playback can only be done with DVD-ROM?
Thanks for your help!

You need to hook the cable box out to the recorder's in. With digital cable you need the box to decode the channels. I don't know how you can record at all, unless there are analog channels along with the digital ones. If the cable box has s-video or RCA outputs that is what should be hooked to the recorder. I'm not sure what you mean by playback and DVD-ROM.
