    I'm using the DivX (libavc) preset and AC3 audio passthrough.
    When playing back the file on my KISS hardware player it is jerky,
    but if I put it thru virtualDub and fixes the preload and interleave values it plays back perfektly.

    What values does ffmpeg use ?

    mencoder has I/L=1, preload=500ms and ffmpeg has I/L=1, preload=0.

    That's the same values I use in VirtualDub, strange.
    Have you any idea as to why running it thru virtualDub fixes the file ?
