  1. I'm converting avi (divx, xvid) to svcd for standalone dvd, with tmpgenc 3.0

I have converted a LOT of avi's, and allways used the wizard, and I have almost allways chosed, Aspect ratio: 16:9 display, full screen keep aspect ratio, (even if the picture get a little stretcht sometimes, on my 4:3 tv) and format:"svcd pal".
The video source type is set to interlace, and further in the wizard it's set to progressive (i guess that's the output video type).

It has allways worked fine, with good quality.

But recently my conversions have been jumpy (if watching a running car, it's like someone's hitting the breakes every other second).

Have I messed up some settings, or can it be a codec problem?

I hope this problem has a simple solution, and that someone can help.
And if someone can, please explain slow, cause i'm not a guru at this.

If your source was not PAL (25 fps)and you created an SVCD that was...well, that could be your problem right there.

  3. Can I watch ntsc on my dvd in europe?

And I know that many of my earlier conversions has been ntsc to pal, and tmpgenc has done a great job.

  4. I burned a NTSC disc and it worked in my dvd.

I got the best result using 3:2 pulldown.

But isn't there any way to get a proper svcd pal from 23.97 fps?

  7. The guide worked perfect.

I just wonder, does tmpgenc do the same thing, but without succeeding perfect.
