What kind of technical information should I be looking for on remotes that can accept those long sets of 4-digit numbers (i.e. 0015 0040 0015 0044 ....) posted on the hack pages of videohelp.com?
I have such a code which is supposed to hack my DVD player and turn it to multiregion but I neither know which remotes can accept those hex type codes nor what's the technical term of this feature. Being generally programmable is just not enough for a remote, is it?
Do you have any suggestion for such a remote? I'm trying to hack my Pioneer DV-575 but my research has shown that the Philips Pronto range of remotes can accept the aforementioned long codes. But those remotes cost as much as my DVD player so please let me know if you know a cheap(er) alternative where I would be able to use those codes.
Thanks in advance for any help. It's much appreciated!
