  1. I use a sky+ (similar to Tivo) box with imovie and canopus advc100 to capture tv programs and convert old vhs tapes. The resulting files are huge obviously. Using FFMPEGX I want to know the best way to convert these .dv quick time movies into files I can burn to DVD using Toast and my superdrive. How can I shrink them so much? i know it's possible i just need an expert to show me the light...

I am using a 15" Powerbook with Superdrive

Really simple - just open the file in ffmpegX choose a save name and select DVD hi-bitrate from the bottom of the main window.

That depends on who is going to view it (Windows users need to have QT installed). But basically just use the iMovie export to web under File>Share and change some settings in QT if you aren't happy with the results.
