Hello!
I got my 106D last December and it was working fine for a couple of weeks, until it suddenly stopped working. Now, I can't remember why it quit on me, if it was cause I reinstalled XP or something, or if it just quit on me..
I've been awfully busy so I haven' t had the time to look into it until today, and I've tried everything I could think of. I reconnected the cables in the back, I reinstalled the drivers for the writer, I downloaded the XP service pack1 (as told by the guy in the shop where I bought the device).. But the problem remains:
The device is found, but it can't do anything, can't read or write either cds or dvds..
Does anyone have a solution? What might be wrong!??
I could really use some help here fellas and ladies!!!
Thanks!

"I reinstalled the drivers for the writer..."
What drivers did you install? unless you have Win 3.1 as your OS anytime you install any CD-ROM or DVD-ROM (hardware) you don't install anything except software applications. Maybe uninstall anything driver-related that you installed will help. -
Ok, I'll try and uninstall everything related to the device, and just let it install itself then-
Fingers crossed now.
Thanks
