  1. HI all helpful brothers,
Im not sure if the problem is related to SP2, but this is wt happened.
A while ago, I was buring DVD no problems on a EMPREX 4x dual writer ( I know its cheap, but so wt it worked fine and im only a student after all)
Anyway, few days ago I upgraded to XP Pro SP2, and I started NERO again, and it said the version 6.3.0.0 was not compatiable with SP2.
Ok, then I upgraded to 6.3.1.20 and I started NERO again.
THis time it didn't say a thing, but when I tried to make a DVD ISO it said "drive is in use of imapi","Burn process started at 2x","DVDRW IDE004", and then it poped out my empty disc (I swear, cuz I tried 3 discs), and it said"Disc not present, tray open" and then it frozeed.
DVD I used are from Ritek.
Can anyone please help me out.
Is this the SP2 problem, cuz I heard its quite troblesome.

    Thank in advance.

  3. SP2 causes a lot of software problems even with some MS software. Honestly I think it's useless to install SP2. It just patches up IE, and updates the firewall, and some other useless things.

  4. After the last bout of holes in IE switch over to Firefox and not looked back.

Never like the gewiz look of 6 so stayed with 5. Simple and works.

well for one thing if you are using nero on xp i suggest you disable the "imapi cd burning com service" as this is for the inbuilt "roxio" burning engine that xp uses.Go to control panel, adminitistrive tools, services and right click on this in the list and choose properties then disable it.
Sp2 still has a lot of software issues which are still to be resolved, this is only one of many that it has.
I always disable that service as I have found it conflicts with nero a lot in certain situations.

if you go to add remove programs you can uninstall sp2 from there but you will then need to dld sp1 again and install it i think, not unless by good luck you already have a copy of sp1 lying around.Thats provided you want to keep your pc secure and up to date with security patches.
