I've noticed a lot of things recently being made in XML. Where would be a good place to start in learning?

What is the suggest background of an XML programmer?

I hate to confess it, but VS .net has excellent support for dealing with XML.
XML as such is more or less a superset of HTML (well, that's oversimplifying matters, but...) Wrox has some good litterature on the subject if you're interested in the innards of XML. For using XML - VS .net!
