What is the most simple tool for just cutting pieces from Mpeg files without rendering afterwards. I have a large mpeg file, and the only thing I want to do is just remove some little pieces.

use womble products for ease and speed (no re-encode), which are mpeg2vcr and the much improved and better GUI mpeg video wizard. however, sometimes with womble if the movie file/mpg are too long/big (2hr movie say 5.5gig+) the audio will get out of sync deep into the movie ONLY after authoring process. So, if this happens I highly recommend doing your cut edits directly in TMPGEnc DVD Author and you will be assured of perfect audio sync after authoring to dvd folder. OR, use VideoReDo for mpg cut editing as it tends to never have audio sync issues, even after output is authored to dvd.
