  1. I have an avi the format is :--

Video Compression -- XviD MPEG-4 Codec

Audio Compression ---Fraunhofer llS layer-3 Codec

I am trying to convert this avi to dvd (PAL)
I have used GSpot, and I have all the codecs installed, but I tried VitualDub MP3 Freeze, and saved to wav, and then I used TMPEnc Plus, and found I have no audio at all when converted. The audio is the problem, Please can someone give me any ideas how to make this audio work.
    Obviously I am missing something

  2. Did you have full processing mode with no compression selected when you saved the wav file.

  3. Hi Craig,
I have just tried "full processing mode with no compression" in virtual-mp3-freeze, and it just does a few seconds and then goes off, tried rebooting the computer but still the same.

  4. Have you tried loading the file into Goldwave ?

Buddha says that, while he may show you the way, only you can truly save yourself, proving once and for all that he's a lazy, fat bastard.

Does the same thing happen with regular vdub or vdub mod. Are you using freeze because you have had to remove some bad frames. If you saved using direct stream copy before then that explains the problem with the sound, it is still encoded with VBR which TMPGEnc does not like. Another option is to try goldwave.

  6. Hi Craig
The Compression will only work with Virtual Dub Mod, but still does not work in Tmpgenc, still no sound so I will try to use goldwave, or just drop the avi. Thanks for your advice.
I wish they would not use these MPEG-4 Video with MPEG3 Audio, but I will know next time
