Apologies for the questions, but I'm kinda confused.
I've got a 1 Gig RGB uncompressed avi (from Adobe After Effects) that I compress in vdub (divxmpg4v3 data rate slider set to 510) at the following three sizes: 320 x 240, 480 x 360, and 640 x 480. Two questions:
1) All three resulting avi files are about the same size; ~2.6 MB ...why doesn't the file size increase significantly w/video dimensions?
2) The 320 x 240 plays smooth as silk in media player 9. while the medium sized file jerks a bit and the largest file is almost too jerky to watch. What is the hardware limiting component on my system that causes the jerkiness? Or is it a software setting I am messing up?
PIII 500, 786RAM, 32MB video card
