I think that in this "hobby", the two things that are absolutely required are patience and hard-drive space. and patience.

There's something to be said about that old addage "Do you want it done quick, or do you want it done right?" Since the original post is somewhat noob-ish, many approaches can be explored to find a solution.
My suggestion (for your method), which adds time and saves space, is to rip the movie and rebuild the IFOs with IFOEdit. My own method would be to use shrink to reauthor the movie only.

That being said, I'll bring up another point.

For all of you crying about "In real life...", well maybe just MackemX, I've got a little newsflash: This isn't real life This is exactly where people can vent or offer suggestions. Who is to say that the same "jerk" offering an opinion isn't seven-two with ham-sized fists or he's a five-two eighty-year-old with cancer? That's the beauty and the curse of forums is that we'll never find out. So, for all your preaching, learn to take your own advice about who may get their ass kicked in real life. Sometimes you need to be grateful that message boards do not equal real life.

Yes, I was able to read between the lines, since he attacked jim's position when he had no reason.

It is water under the bridge now, but FWIW, this is how I interpreted it too. I merely mentioned that smartripper and DVDDecrypter were much of a muchness and all of a sudden I get flamed for offering an alternative solution (the way that I do it) as opposed to strictly answering the poster's question.

Well, my method is to use DVDStripper and menuedit. Feel free to do whatever you want but it works for me, it gets the results that *I* want for MY backups. The rest of you can argue and flame and what not, but the bottom line is whatever works for you, do it.
