Let the Canon remote capture preview run on the screen and have CamStudio capturing it at the same time

    I don't think that's possible.

Couldn't you just copy the stored MPEGs onto your hard disk? If not from the camera directly, maybe from a CF card reader? Am I missing something here?

Just purchased this camera myself. Have not even installed software disc that comes with the camera. However, according to the User guide only the software on the disc will allow "PC-controlled shooting" (unsure if this includes video)

The compact flash slot is Type 2 compliant and will support a 4gb Hitachi microdrive. However, the guide states only 1 gb can be captured in one continous file.

If you figure out any workarounds for this please share. I bought a transcend 45x 1gb flash card and can capture about 10 minutes of 640 by 480 30fps video with image stabilization and 10x zoom. Really nice for making family event DVDs with both clips and stills without having to lug a camcorder around.

  8. Agree w/fingernailX, this camera kills. I quit lugging my ZR65MC around, the video quality is as good or better. The IS with the 10X lens is unreal - I took great, clear shots while powerboating and photographing my daughter on tube we were towing - at 10X and 1/1000th. Amazing. Only 3.2 mpel but I never print anything at even 8x10 so it's not an issue for me. Complete manual mode, too.
