    I obtained the trailer from a friend(He ripped it from a DVD)

    When i try to play it back, it's jerky and the sound is terrible. I cut a ten second clip from the begining of the trailer: http://www.yourlifesource.com/myspace/clip/(10secCLIP).avi
    Is it a bad rip or do i have the wrong codecs/players?

    Is there anyway to fix this easily?

    Probably a bad rip. I seriously doubt your codecs, and filters would cause this. To be sure try to play the video using a few different players (that use different codecs for playback) if it's jerky and crappy in all of them it's a lousy rip.
