Following up an earlier post with some pics.
The one with the half line is my new Pioneer DV-270. The top also has a half line but starting part way across.
Doesn't do it with all discs though. Disc in question is an Aussie show "Kath and Kim"
The 2nd pic is my 4y.o. Philips DVD-718.

The problem is the transmition because of intelaced scaning the dot has to finnish from the middle of the first frame to the start of the second frame.
You should also notice this on your recieved picture.
Some transmitions have this iregularity suppressed.

So is it just a quirk of the Pioneer player ?
Didn't matter which TV I used. Got same results.
I thought perhaps my Philips was surpressing the incomplete top and bottom lines.
