I have an AVI file that is playing upside down. I can easily flip it to play on the PC, but I want to convert to DVD format (using WinAvi) to play on my DVD player.

I have tried to add the filter (flip) in VirtualDub, but under Full Processing mode it gives me a 47GB file. Under Direct Stream Copy mode the file is still upside down.

Can anyone advise me on how to fix this problem?

    Thanks in advance.....Sly

Please check what compressor(codec) you have selected. The 47Gbyte file looks like uncompressed.

Try changing the setting of the codec used to handle this AVI. Somewhere, there's an option to flip (or unflip) the image.

I am using the Divx codec. I have managed to get the file size down, but still upsidedown!

I'll check the flip options now.

Couldn't find a flip option using the Divx codec. I found one using the FFDSHOW codec, so I am trying that now. Although it doesn't look good, as both video windows show the video upsidedown still.

I think MediaPlayer classic lists the codecs and filters involved in displaying a particular file. That might lead you on the right track...

Well, it has all turned out ok. I ran it through VirtualDub using FFDSHOW codec. And even though both input & output screens were displaying the video upsidedown, the final product was perfect!

Thank you guys for all your help!!
