  1. is there a quicker way to convert? Currently converting from pal to ntsc (not fun) avi's ... that doesnt take long, but then going from avi to dvd ... takes so long and I have a bunch of files i need to convert... Using Vdub, besweet , tpngenc , and dvd2svcd. 2 ghz celeron 256mb ram (lol).

ok.... i know i can batch encode with tmpgenc... i want to batch encode a bunch of pal files into ntsc mpeg2 ... is it absolutely neccessary to use vdub to strip the audio to wave and reencode with besweet then convert with dvd2svcd? or is that a waste of time? lol Wondering if i should just cut out dvd2svcd (but it makes vobs) . hmmm what im doing now works tho, just takes soooo long! batch encode with tmpgenc to ntsc mpeg2 .. check the audio for synch.. then convert to vob with dvd2svcd? ill try that i guess. Thinking maybe Im doing too many steps?

    Hello,
Well, one way I'm trying is to hook up my pc to a vcr. I have a svideo output and I've output the ripped vobs to the vcr. My problem is it's in Black and White on the VCR. It's something to do with my video card. The dvd and the vobs are in color on the PC.

If you can do this output to vcr than you could reverse it back to a capture card. That's my ultimate goal.

  3. Check out this guide:

    https://www.videohelp.com/guides.php?link=222

I use VirtualDub to convert the AVI from PAL (25 FPS) to NTSC (23.976 FPS) first. Unfortunately only the video is converted ... the audio is still 25 FPS but more about that later. I then use DVD2SVCD build 1.2.2.1 to create a DVD from the AVI.

DVD2SVCD will run BeSweet to create a separate audio (.MP2) file from the AVI. For PAL AVI's, rename the encoded_audio_1.MP2 file as encoded_audio_PAL.MP2 and run BeSweet GUI (with the appropriate presets in the OTA Option pane), reencode the encoded_audio_PAL.MP2 file from PAL to NTSC and save the output as encoded_audio_1.MP2. This bit is necessary to keep the audio in sync with the video and DVD2SVCD will remux the encoded_audio_1.MP2 file and xxx.MPV files to create the .MPG file. BeSweet GUI can be run simultaneously with DVD2SVCD since audio encoding takes less time than video encoding.

Some hours later (it depends on your processor and RAM) you will have DVD compliant files ready for burning.

so if i convert to ntsc first and use the pal video and do it through dvd2svcd it should convert the audio too when i convert to mpeg2?
