  2. Here is a new pic for you stilt.

As you can see I would have to drill a hole in the inner skin wall somewhere. The wall is not built on the suspended floor. The floor is suspended from the wall. I drilled high enough up the wall to make fishing the cables up easy.

  3. The cable is chased into the plaster upto a level where it is easy for me to reach into the cavity and fish the cable up. At this point it goes through a hole in the inner skin, into the cavity.

@Craig - I noticed some free floating cables before you put your equipment in, that look like they are plugged into an outlet of sorts. Are those cables permanent or are they removable.

I did something similar, but put in nothing but wall plates for connections. (4 standard 120VAC outlets, S/Video, RCA, 4 speaker clips, coaxial, & RJ45) I set it up this way so anyone after me could use whatever to connect. I'll have to clear away some wires and move the entertainment center, but I'll see if I can get a pic. The cables go back to one of the bedrooms where the computers are. In the closet in the bedroom is the main breaker box, an RJ45 block of jacks to every room (something I installed), Coaxial jacks to every room, phone jacks to every room, S/Video jacks to every room, 50 speaker clips that go to every room. Many of the jacks are set in sort of a loop so I could put a stero system in the master bedroom, but set the clips in the other room to listen to music in my son's room. It's kindda cool when every TV & speaker in the house is linked to the Home Theater and you're watching a movie. It totally surrounds you everywhere. Litterally! Like I said, I'll try & grab some pics.

Ahhh! I see. No speaker lines for surround sound? Looks like there's just power & cable/antenna hookups.

OK for drywall BJ_M, but not a lot of use for brick and block.

It's a little embarrassing posting a pic after HM's awsome looking setup but here goes.

Is that a bad angle, or is that shelf starting to bow?

That would be a bad angle or maybe a shadow effect on the wall.

I just looked at the original closely and it is a shadow, it has a low point in the middle because that is a corner where the 2 walls meet directly behind the tv (I know it is hard to tell because it looks like one wall but it is a corner.)

    Very nice!
Can you post them or email some of them to me? My dad is working on building his own theater system setup into his house and would be very interested to see what you've done.
