  1. Hi, I use DVD-Shrink(latest version) to back-up the DVD.
    Then it automatically opens NERO 6 and asks me to insert blank DVD and it burns it. No sweat.
    Sometime I use DVDShrink to copy first to location on hardrive. Then I Use Nero Express and burn the DVD.
    Sometimes, not always, I will to try to play the DVD I just burnt in my newer DVD players and I either get an error message or something like this:
    ..VIDEO_VTS{FOLDER}
    ..AUDIO{FOLDER}
    ..VIDEO{FOLDER}

    But I can not select the folders to play anything.
    If I play the DVD in my computer with PowerDVD it works fine.
    If I play the DVD in my OLDER DVD Player, it plays fine!!
    I wonder why this is so?
    Thanks for any help or insight!!
    Dan

  2. DVD-Video is in a special format that has key information (like the VIDEO_TS.IFO file) aligned to certain sectors.

    If you do not author it properly, bad things may happen with some players. You need to make sure you are burning with "DVD-Video" type and not a plain data DVD.

  3. Thanks.
    When I use Nero Express I ALWAYS choose "DVD-Videos files" then add all of ifo and vobs etc to the video_ts folder.
    But for some reason every now and then it just doesn't work with my newer players which doesn't make sense.

  4. Try burning with DVDDecrytper then. I have it set to go to an ISO and automatically use DVDD when it's done.

    It might have to do with bitsetting (DVD ROM). Some players will not play a DVD unless it is set to DVD ROM. Or it could be media incompatability (- +).
