Is there any softwares that will unite 2 or more compressed audio files (wma, mp3, etc.). I am not looking for ways to split a file into little ones. A friend of mine has 2 already made WMA files and she wants to unite them. I told her to convert them to 2 WAVE files and unite them into one.

But uniting directly 2 WMA files?

  2. Though it may be theoretically possible (maybe.. depending on the structure of WMA files), there is likely no editor that can do this with re-encoding.

    Just convert to wave.

    Hello,
There is a program out there called mp3merge. It works quite well.

One approach would be to burn an audio cdrw of the wma and then rip that to mp3. Than you can use mp3merge to join them. I don't know where it is just do a net search for "mp3merge" and you should find it.

  4. Um.. why waste a CD and cause dramatic quality loss by re-encoding to MP3 when one could just convert the WMA files to uncompress PCM wave?

    Thank you for all responses.

I have tried mp3merge and that worked quite well for mp3 or mp2 only. Those are the only 2 file extensions that are accepted by mp3merge.

I was looking for way to merge 2 wma files.

Fortunately, I found one: Audio Edit Deluxe. This software did what I wanted to do (and more).

Thanks again for your kind responses.
