Hello
I Import QT files with my AlchemyDVR card. they are QT files comp. with sorensen3. they run about 2gb for 30 minutes of TV
the app quit before the end of a program, and I have a file (QT) that is 1.8 GB so its most of the show.
QT the app will not open it, says unknown file. FinalCutEx also won't import it, unknwm file.
iMovie says this: Can't be imported. QT coun't parse it. -2048
is there any other app out there that can rescue this file and make it readable with QT?
Id like to use this problem as a way to learn more about movie files, qt etc and rescue this also.
thanks rotut

I'd say to open it up with HexEdit, along with another .mov that the DVR card made, change the broken one to have the same beginning as the one that works. I once had a DV file that had a bunch of zeros at the beginning, and wouldn't open with QT. Removing them all, until it had the same header (beginning of the file) as one that worked fixed the problem.
I like systems, their application excepted. (George Sand, translated from French), "J'aime beaucoup les systèmes, le cas d'application excepté."
