    Gally56,

I'm taking for granted that you are adding MPEG2 files to your DVD project.

If so check the following in order to prevent MovieFactory from re-encoding your Mpegs:

    1. Click on the "Project Settings" icon.

    2. Ensure that the "Do not convert compliant MPEG files" box is checked.

If your MPeg files are DVD compliant then MovieFactory will no longer re-encode them - saving you hours of waiting. Plus the re-encoding can degrade the quality iof your Mpegs !!

    Good luck,

    Moonstomp.

    Hello,

Moonstomps is right : when the files are DVD compliant, they are not re-encoded, thus not degraded.

DVD compliant means both video (MPEG 2, 720x576/720x480 max 9800kbps CBR or VBR) and audio (48kz, 16 bit, up from 192 kbps) compliant

So if your file contains 44,1 khz audio, DVD moviefactory will re-encode it, including the video...

  5. Your audio file is at the wrong sample rate. it should be 48KHz, not 44.1. You can re-encode with BeSweet.
