i been encoding from divx and xvid to svcd for a year or two. gettin fed up with burning 2 cds n changing it while im watching it i bought a dvd burner,, now im encoding from xvid, divx to dvd, and ive done about 3 so far and all came good
however i do have 1 question
i always save the wav with virtual dub and make the compression on "no compression"
and then conversion to "44.1"
(default is 48)
now for my understanding that is downgrading it right?
if it isnt.. correct me.. basically i want to ask do i still need to convert to 44.1 when encoding from divx, xvid to dvd just iek i used to with divx, xvid to svcd
thanx in advance for the help

ah i see
any difference in quality?
cause ive noticed when i encoded from xvid to dvd (700mb) to (4.2gb)
i noticed a decrease in quality of sound -
Hello,
Any time you convert something there is a little quality loss. Your best bet would be to go back to the original source and start over - if possible of course.
