Neighbor update

Most of you will remember on my trip to work video I made comment about some jackass building a house on the corner. Well, the guy who built it sold it. I stopped down there yesterday and we were just shooting the shit, talking about stuff, you know how it goes. Anyway, long story short, we end up shooting some guns out behind his house. He has a 357 rifle (lever action...I had never seen one), which I thought was interesting, so we were shooting it and some other guns.

There is a guy building a house right next door, and he is up on the roof laying tar paper and during a break in the gun action, the neighbor yells over and says "Hey guys....I don't like guns, would you mind not shooting them." Before I could even make the "you've got to be shitting me" look on my face, Mark says "well you might want to build your house somewhere else. You ought to be god damn happy I'm not shooting at you."

The guy got down and left. After the guy left I told Mark "man see you already pissed off you new neighbor." Mark said "**** that mother ******, I garuntee I've pissed off more important people than him."

I think Mark and I are going to get along great....ME x 2

Not to say that all gun owners are fanatics; I know better. But your average gun owner isn't going to say, 'oh, well if it bothers you, I guess I'll just stop.' Why do I get the feeling that stupid people are trying to take over the world?

He's an older guy, mid 50's or so...I don't think technology is something he is fond of or cares much about....but I'll ask him the next time I see him.

He cracks me up. After the "incident" we got into the beer a little bit and every once in a while I would say "I'll bet your neighbor wouldn't appreciate you drinking over here." or "What does you neighbor think of you working on your truck." He finally got mad and said "look...I know what you are trying to do, and it's working. **** that bastard"

Very rural till about 10 years ago.Now it has subdivisions around it. Some homeowners had concerns. All of the ranges are pretty much foolproof. It is nearly impossible to shoot at the rifle ranges and get a lofting shot out of the range. Trap range limits the loads for distance. Piont being, gun fanatics there are very responsible between club policy and setup. If you **** around ,youre out. It is good because I've been taking the boy. He sees the respect for the rules and safety which is a good stepoff point for households that own gunz. I had him shoot to understand that gunz are much more powerfull in real life ,than vid games. He doesnt want to shot the Bushmaster in the near future but liked the 9 mm S&W. That works out bad for me since I am more comfortable with him shotting the rifle propt up on the sandbags with hard trigger action. I have to help him steady the pistol, which has been giving me some greif with the slide on my knuckles i think i will get a 22 revolver so he can handle it ,without the semiauto concerns.

You may be surprised. My aunt is 85 and has just learned how to use a PC and all the software on it. I don't think people's age has much to do with their ability to catch on to new technologies, it's more their attitude.

Law? for what? He didn't threaten him, he simply stated a fact. He didn't say it to me, but I am happy he wasn't shooting at me...wouldn't you be? Now we all know what he meant...but that's not what he said.

In many situations unless the threat is unmistakably a threat of bodily harm or death, there isn't much they can do.
