    OK so i just got a ATI all in wonder 9600 and it has a composite video input device. i can capture video from it fine, but i was wondering if there was software or someway that i could just watch whats being inputed, not capture it. for example id like to play xbox on my lcd monitor. is that possible? is so could somebody please suggest the software needed or how to do this. thank you

    Hello,
    Your capture program should have an option somewhere for full screen viewing. As far as I know it's not recommend to play a video game system through a capture card (at least for hard paced action, getting a few still shots would probably be doable).

    If you want to play a video game system on your monitor because of space issues (in a dorm room and no spare tv, small tv just broke, etc) your best bet would be to get a vga box (a device that will let you convert the input to a monitor and use it as a standalone -- the vcr/game system to the monitor without the computer).

    ---For the other question just DON'T hit the record button while your capture software is turned on. It's just like a vcr, it won't record unless you tell it to. If you have it on a high capture setting your temporary files may clog up after a few hours though.----

    I did this for a few months. fire up the ati TV software and change the input to composite or s-video, whichever you're using. the image quality is kinda crappy tho so if you're looking for a permanent solution i'd also suggest a VGA adapter/switch
