  1. I'm trying to use TMPGEnc V 2.00.29.113 with the QTReader.vfp (dated 3/13/01 11:42 PM) and get "Invalid floating decimal point error" message when I try to convert a the quicktime sample movie (or any other quicktime movie) to a VCD MPEG. I'm using Windows 98 and I have the non professional version of QuickTime (V 5.02) installed. Even if I try to convert a MPEG to a VCD MPEG I get the same error a frame or two into the conversion.

If I delete the QTReader.vfp file from the TMPGEnc directory, I have no problems converting MPEGs to VCD MPEGs. It seems that nobody else is having this problem. It behaves the same on two different computers for me.

The other problem is that I tried Uleads's DVD factory and was able to convert QuickTime movies to VCD but I get clicks in the audio. Even the QuickTime sample movie. Anybody got a workaround for this or should I just not purchase it after my 30 days are up?

  2. I think this may solve your problem with encoding MPEGs to VCD using TMPGEnc with QTReader loaded --
In TMPGEnc, goto Option\Environmental setting\VFAPI plugin.. then right click on QTReader & Lower priority to 0 or -1.

As to encoding MOV to VCD, try playing around with Lower & Higher priority for QTReader until TMPGEnc works.
If it still doesn't work, i'm afraid you'll have to use MOV2AVI to convert the MOV to AVI uncompressed
then encode the AVI with TMPGEnc to VCD.
