I've got this problem with my PC at work and at which our IT folks haven't really offered any suggestions. At random (it seems) on average of 30-minutes, my Monitor Screen goes blank for 1-second or so. I've tried changing my fresh rate from 72-Hz to 75-Hz to 85-Hz with no apparent success.

I've had this PC for a couple of years now. This problem only started after our IT folks pushed some Norton antivirus updates and check the security log. My work PC is a Dell Dimension 4550.

    Any thoughs or suggestions?

The only thing that comes to mind is the power management setting in Windows.

BTW you can edit the title of your topic after it's posted. Just in case you want to remove the junk

Thanks, I didn't even notice the "junk" in the title until I returned to the forum. Not sure how it got there but I've edited now.

Unfortunately, I don't have permissions to change or even view these settings. The blanking is very irratating especially when it occurs when I'm typing.
