What kind of cam do you have?
I have a Sony TRV-330. It has just about any port that an amature could use. It came with a cord or cable called an "AV connecting cable". The cable has three RCA type connectors on one end (video, left and right audio) and a 1/8" mini jack on the other end. I connect this cable to the output jacks of a cheap TV/VCR portable unit via the RCA jacks and to the port on the cam called by Sony the AUDIO/VIDEO ID-2 jack. Turn everything on and it is good to go.

Another route that can be used is the S-VIDEO cable and jacks. I have never tried this as none of my TVs are modern enough to have any S-VIDEO outputs. I may some day try to use the S-VIDEO with my ATI.AIW dongle. But that is a headache I will wait for.

I mainly use the firewire from cam to PC and vice versa. I hear that modern TVs, and such, some times have firewire ports on them this should do the trick as well. But I have no firewire endowed equipment other than my PC and cam and can't really say that this will work, but it should.

As for portable TVs I have a Sansui (9" I think) 120VAC/12VDC unit that I bought for the kids when we travel by car. It has a built in VCR that works better than I thought it would. It has several RCA ins and outs and a couple of headphone jacks and a coax jack. I wasn't looking for all this when I bought it, but it fits in my computer room just right when we are not traveling. And it is easy to turn around to get at the back jacks(even though it does have jacks on the front too) It has kind of become my editing bay hub so to speak because with it and my cam I can hook up just about anything pretty easy. I don't know how portable you are looking for but I am sure that there are smaller and better. but maybe not cheaper.

Tell us what you have. or why you want to watch TV on a cam screen and we might be able to point you in a better direction.
IS IT SUPPOSED TO SMOKE LIKE THAT?
