  1. I've done this several times before but cannot seem to burn couple of bin/cue files to CD-R. I finally realized that the bin files are ~800MB each whereas CD-R capacity is 700MB. I've never run across this before. Please advise as to how to proceed so I can watch these on my DVD player.

I've searched the archives but could not find solution. BTW, these are SVCD's. Here are the cue texts:

    FILE "TEST.CD1.bin" BINARY
    TRACK 01 MODE2/2352
    INDEX 01 00:00:00
    TRACK 02 MODE2/2352
    INDEX 01 00:06:56

    FILE "TEST.CD2.bin" BINARY
    TRACK 01 MODE2/2352
    INDEX 01 00:00:00
    TRACK 02 MODE2/2352
    INDEX 01 00:06:56

    Thanks.

You could try burning the cue file.

That is what you normally use to burn images.

You can also burn iso images.

What are the time lengths of your parts?

A cd will either hold 700 Megabytes or 80 minutes.

  3. Video CDs do not use error protection and therefore you can burn "more" data to a CD. Those files should be fine.

What are you using to author those VCDs? What is the exact error/problem?

  4. I've used Nero 5.5.10.xx and CopyToDvd to try to burn the cue files to CD-R and every time (for both programs) the DVD tray ejects and message says to insert CD-R/RW recordable media... ??? I'm using Verbatim blank recordable CD-R media--52x, 80min max or 700MB. I'm not understanding what the problem is.. ??

-I downloaded the files (2 cues and 2 bins)
-I edited cue files in Notepad (deleted C:\) to refelct title only with "FILE" at beginning and "BINARY" at end
-Tried burning (with Nero and CopyToDvd)

As to length, I don't know.. How can I tell? It's not listed anywhere.. Not sure what you mean by 'authoring'.. I thought that wasn't necessary with bin/cue files--just download and burn straight to CD-R.

Does it have something to do with my hardware maybe?? My writer is an HP 400c.. Thanks.

  5. it's sounds to me like it's the media and not the files that your writer doesn't like
for nero choose burn image from the recorder menu and choose the .cue file
also make sure the name in the .cue file matches the name of the .bin file
and an svcd can hold 795mb although i have fit 800mb with overburning
the .bin file takes up about 10mb or more overhead so your 800mb .bin is
probably about 790mb or less in cd space

also check to see if there is a firmware update for your drive
updated firmware usually adds more compatibility for media

You are using the burn image option under file in nero and loading just the cue file and checked in file/preferences/expert features/enable overburn? You can burn up to 805 mb in bin/cue without overburning and ive been able to overburn up to 828 mb on svcd.
    I think,therefore i am a hamster.

  7. Nero is not detecting the Verbatim CD-R media (which I know is not a problem b/c I was able to burn DATA on to the media on my other system that has the same version of Nero on it).

From the Recorder drop-down menu, I selected Medium-Info and Nero message says 'No media detected...".. I checked settings for Nero on both machines and as far as I can tell, they are the same.. ???

And yes, I did have Overburn checked..

Edit: Does problem have anything to do with Seamless Link?? Burn dialoge box begins by: "Seamless Link activated" just before "Please insert recordable media.." box comes up.

But I just realized, why can I NOT burn using CopyToDvd?? Same error msg comes up: Please insert writeable media.. ???

I'm thinking it's gotta be the CDs too.
    If in doubt, Google it.
