  2. 90blackcrx, here's a crazy idea. How 'bout u go back to the guides section and search AVI to DVD convertion. All the questions you've posted are simple questions that myself and pretty much everyone else on this forum have had to learn through research, trial and error. Read the guides, they work....

Your downloaded AVI = mpeg4/Divx/Xvid (something in that realm)
    DVD Compliant mpeg = mpeg2

  6. Was reading a couple guides, 2 questions. Will it matter what software I use to encode, will one make the quality better ? Example, if I let nero encode it, will it come out better then if dvd santa encoded it ? Second question, dvd santa seems pretty easy to use, will it make the quality of the video any lesser ?

Neither Santa nor Nero are encoders. Encoding is part of what they do, sure, but I'll bet my last dime on a real, "stand alone" encoder when it comes to quality. What guides tells you to encode with Santa or Nero? What's your top priority? Ease of use or quality? They very rarely meet...

OK! Not a VideoHelp guide, then. I still recoomend using dedicated applications for each step in the process from AVI to DVD Video. There are simply too many variations of the AVI theme to allow for one application to handle them all, and specialized tools are by nature better suited to their task than "all-in-one" tools (compare a screw driver, a socket wrench kit and a hack saw to a Swiss Army knife). Take a look at this!
