How much harddrive space do I need if I want to copy a dvd9 that is around 8GB to a Dvdr?

Well, if you plan on ripping the DVD to your hard drive first and then transode it, you will need the full 8GB plus an additional 5GB for the output files. However, if you transcode directly from the DVD, then you'll need approximately 5GB for the output files.
