  1. Hi Guys,

I'll just start off by sayingIve been lurking around tese forums for the past 4 months or so and have found the advice you guys give realy helpful, so thanks.

After downloading what was said to be a SVCD file, extracting the bin/cue file from its rar arcive and converting these into MPEG using VCD gear, ive tried to author these MPEG's onto DVD in TMPGEnc DVD Author, unfortunatly after pressin the add file button i get 'The video GOP is too long, for a standard DVD it is necessary that the GOP fulfill the following condition:

Max 36 fileds (NTSC format only)
Max 30 fields (PAL format only)'

It then goes on to speak about out of standards DVD's etc.

After choosing to ignore this and runing te process through to output and pressing begin output, I get the message:

'The video resolution of 480 x 576 cannot be used for a standard DVD use one of the standard DVD resolutions:

    NTSC: 352 x 340 352x480 704 x 480 720 x 480
    PAL: 352 x 288 252 x 576 720 x 576 704 x 576'

Now Ive tried the 'common problems with TMPGEnc' thread and it doesnt seem to work' can anybody help me, it would be greatly appreciated.

Try re-encode with TMPGEnc and standard NTSC DVD template.

You should be using one of the excellent SVCD to DVD guides found in the All Guides section under format conversion, right here.
